The Southern Counties Cooperative Choir

Last December our conductor Mrs Cockman suggested that instead of our usual Christmas Concert we should invite people to a free afternoon singing with a few songs by the choir. It was a great success. So, in June we repeated the ‘Come and Sing’ idea with Folk songs from around the world. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we raised £150 in aid of The Royal Blind Society just by a raffle, bring and buy stall and selling home made cards made by Debbie Mitchell, our new accompanist.

We have had a quieter year, for sadly many of the places we have visited for years, have now closed down. We are at the moment preparing two programmes, one for the Christmas season and one celebrating the life of Charles Dickens.

We are a very happy group of ladies. We thoroughly enjoy our Friday afternoons. We would welcome new members come and join us.
